In 2014, in order to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the National Museum of China specially exhibited the Famous Artists Exhibition of Famous Artists at the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and France. France has brought the top ten masterpieces of French art, each one reflecting an era. Among them are “abstract” works from a painter named Suraki, the greatest French contemporary artist alive today. French contemporary art seems to be much smaller than the reputation of Impressionism. Time magazine of the United States puts it more arrogantly: “Throughout the world of literature, film, painting and music, no one in France today can only take possession of the memory of history.” Many people understand that Impressionism, Fauvism Cubism, surrealism, and important schools of modern art all originated in France. Who knows, after the World War II, the United States grabbed the banner of art in New York.
