The purpose of this article is to criticize the “convergence theory.” As will be pointed out below, while this theory has its positive aspects and its negative aspects, the latter is even more important because it will lead to people unable to understand the development of the world economy. Convergence was first proposed by Dutch economist Dinkenbauer in 1961, the first president of the Dutch Central Program. Its basic idea is that the communist economy and the free economy (capitalist economy) are undergoing a campaign to discard the extremist elements, each adopting some elements of the other. Dingbergen's theory of convergence is an extension of the world economy to economic and social development “harmonious mode ”.
