为加强国内外的体育交流,深圳市将兴建一大型体育馆,其主体建筑占地面积1.4公顷,容纳观众6500座。立面造型上采用大悬挑屋盖,加上悬挑的看台与茶色大片玻璃,对比强烈、体型庄重。该馆可用于各种室内体育比赛,并设有活动舞台,悬挂式银幕,中央还设有悬挂式多面彩色电视屏幕等先进设备。主体结构采用四柱支承的钢网架结构,设计的钢结构部分由中国建筑标准设计研究所负责设计。屋面板用复合压型钢板,三元乙丙卷材防水。钢网
