In order to determine whether the cell type and stage of differentiation affect the outcome of infection, we studied the penetration, shelling, nucleic acid hybridization and protein synthesis of vaccinia virus IHD-W in order to explore the replication of vaccinia virus in hematopoietic cell lines.
