At the invitation of Mr. Pei Rongfu, former director of Institute of Deposit Geology, Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, Dr Andre Panteleyev, Geological Bureau of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, British Columbia, Canada, on 28 October 1985 Come to the lecture. Dr. Pantaleyev has long been involved in mineral deposits research in British Columbia, Canada, and his main expertise is the epithermal precious metal deposit. The lecture will focus on the Geothermal Mineral Gold-Silver Deposit in Cordillera, Canada, and provide an overview of the geological and mineral conditions, massive sulphide deposits and porphyry copper deposits in British Columbia. The epithermal gold-silver deposit is also called “capsule mine”, “Tertiary deposit”, “precious metal deposit associated with volcanism” or “ancient hot spring gold-silver deposit” in Canada. . Dr. Pantreyev believes that this type of deposit has the following characteristics: the ore deposit is near the surface; the orebody is usually veins; the deposit is formed in an expanding tectonic setting; mineralization usually occurs in volcanic geologic bodies
