故障函数法是用图论的方法导出了逻辑网络的单故障和多故障的诊断测试函数的个数与逻辑函数的算符和函数结构的关系,给出了测试函数、测试和故障函数的求找方法。本方法理论上无需单故障假设,也无需事先假定故障点便可由函数的变态求出诊断逻辑可区分的全部故障的测试函数集。对单故障,可以作到其测试函数集最小,每个测试都有最大的信息增益。它既可诊断组合逻辑也可诊断时序逻辑,且只要测试存在便能求出。
