珲春煤田位于吉林省东部延边朝鲜族自治州珲春县境内,南和西南与苏联相邻,构成一较完整东窄西宽的重要含煤盆地。该煤田发现于1914年。1928、1935、1936年日本人曾在此地进行过零星的地质调查。1956—1957年原地质部沈阳地质局在该矿区进行过普查勘探和大量的轻型山地工程。1958年后,吉林省煤田地质局再次对该煤田进行了详查勘探.
Hunchun Coalfield is located in Qichun County, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in the eastern part of Jilin Province. It is adjacent to the Soviet Union in the south and southwest, forming a relatively complete coal basin with east-west and west-wide widths. The coalfield was discovered in 1914. In 1928, 1935, 1936, the Japanese conducted sporadic geological surveys here. In 1956-1957, the former Bureau of Geology, Shenyang Geological Bureau conducted census surveys and a large number of light mountain projects in the mine. After 1958, Coalfield Geology Bureau of Jilin Province conducted a detailed survey of the coalfield.
