活断层年代研究,其最后一次断层活动的年代确定是至关重要的。确定断层活动年代的方法很多,本文介绍两种,即热释光法和矿物表面形貌结构法。热释光测年要求断层泥在最后一次断层活动中其剩余热释光强度回零,但至今仍没有这方面的可靠证据。实际上,断层活动复杂多样,可能部分回零,部分不回零,这就要求采样过程中注意观察,力求采集到与最后一次断层活动相关的断层泥。此外,断层泥表面形貌结构的研究也是必不可少的,每一次新的活动都可能会破坏它先前的固有结构,而重新在断层泥中留下新的结构。因而断层泥表面形貌结构可以提供断层最后一次活动的信息。所以要得到断层最后一次活动的真实年龄,应该从以上两方面着手,每一环节都不可忽视。
The study of the age of active faults is of crucial importance in determining the age of the last fault. There are many ways to determine the age of faulting, this article describes two kinds, that is, thermoluminescence and mineral surface topography method. The thermoluminescence dating requires the fault gully to return to zero at the last fault activity, but so far there is no reliable evidence in this regard. In fact, the fault activity is complex and diverse, and may be partially zeroed back, and some of the faults do not go back to zero. This requires careful observation in the sampling process and attempts to collect fault mud associated with the last fault activity. In addition, the study of the surface topography of fault mud is also indispensable. Every new activity may destroy its previous intrinsic structure and leave a new structure in the fault mud again. Thus, the surface morphology of the fault mud can provide information on the last activity of the fault. Therefore, to get the true age of the last event of the fault, we should start from the above two aspects, and each step can not be ignored.
