According to incomplete statistics, the average size of roads in Shanghai downtown has received more than 1,000 “openings” each year due to the laying, maintenance, and expansion of underground pipelines, which has caused many inconveniences to the daily lives of residents. There have been whimpers: Can we not add “ziplines” to our roads? It will soon become a reality. Puyang’s Zhangyang Road in the “Five Roads and One Bridge” built this year uses a common trench construction method. The four major pipelines for power cables, communication cables, gas, and tap water are collected in a common trench and buried under the sidewalks. This is the first case.
