Based on the coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the soliton transmission in a two-core fiber is studied. The two-core fiber soliton switching characteristics with different gains and losses are discussed. The concept of potential function is used to explain the soliton’s transmission and switching behavior in dual-core fiber
