提出利用变形光子晶体光纤实现矩形光源和普通单模光纤的高效耦合,变形光子晶体光纤矩形芯一端连接矩形光源,圆形芯一端连接普通光纤。首先利用光束传播法计算了此结构的耦合效率;然后通过堵孔、充气和加热的方法,实现了矩形芯到圆形芯的变形光子晶体光纤的制作。模拟结果显示,该耦合方式优于矩形光源与普通单模光纤的直接耦合,可将耦合效率提高3.9 dB以上。实验结果表明,利用这种耦合方式连接矩形光源与普通单模光纤是完全可行的。
It is proposed to use the deformed photonic crystal fiber to realize the efficient coupling between the rectangular light source and the ordinary single-mode optical fiber. One end of the rectangle core of the deformed photonic crystal fiber is connected with the rectangular light source, and one end of the circular core is connected with the ordinary optical fiber. Firstly, the coupling efficiency of this structure was calculated by using the beam propagation method. Then, the fabrication of the deformed photonic crystal fiber with the rectangular core to the circular core was realized by plugging, inflating and heating methods. The simulation results show that the coupling method is superior to the direct coupling between the rectangular light source and ordinary single-mode fiber, and the coupling efficiency can be improved by more than 3.9 dB. The experimental results show that it is feasible to use this kind of coupling to connect rectangular light source and ordinary single-mode fiber.
