方法库是计算机应用的一项前沿技术。前联邦德国对方法库的研究起步最早,70年代初就出现了统计学方法库、生物医学方法库、企业管理方法库。这些早期的方法库采用批处理方式,基本未脱离软件包的特点。近年来方法库的研究较少,因为有许多技术难关不易攻克。在这个领域我国几乎还是空白。因此,国家经济信息系统总体方案研究报告中提出了要研制建立3库系统,即模型库、数据库、方法库。
