英国Thor陶瓷公司和英钢联合作,共同开发出安装在中间包下水口处用于控制流入连铸结晶器钢水流量的回转阀ROCON。该阀的主要部件是一柱形耐火材料转子,能够轴向转动,并与粘结到中间包底部的静止半圆穹顶形下水口保持紧密接触。在穹顶形水口和转子内都钻有一偏心孔。钢水流量的调节是通过转动转子使两孔间轴线产生不同程度的不重合度来实现。转子的驱动装置安装在中间包的一侧,即可在穹顶形水口和转子间施加一向下的力,又可驱动转子转动以精确控制钢水流量和关闭水口。
Thor Ceramics, UK, and Ying Steel have partnered to develop a rotary valve, ROCON, installed at the spout of the tundish to control the flow of molten steel into the continuous casting mold. The main part of the valve is a cylindrical refractory rotor that is axially rotatable and in intimate contact with a quiescent semicircular domed drain to the bottom of the tundish. An eccentric hole is drilled in the dome-shaped nozzle and the rotor. Adjustment of molten steel flow through the rotor so that the axis of the two holes have different degrees of non-coincidence to achieve. The rotor drive, mounted on one side of the tundish, applies a downward force between the dome-shaped nozzle and the rotor and drives the rotor to rotate to precisely control the flow of molten steel and close the nozzle.
