氨的催化氧化是中学化学教学的重要内容之一。现行中学教材安排有用铂作催化剂进行氨催化氧化的实验。铂是一种昂贵的金属,目前许多中学没有铂丝,因而无法作这个实验。为寻求一种价廉易得的物质代替铂作为催化剂,进行氨的催化氧化实验,过去曾有过许多介绍。如介绍了用铜作催化剂,但进行实验时需要以纯氧代替空气,给实验带来麻烦。南京师范学院介绍以镀银镜铜丝代替铂作催化剂,这是一种行之有效的办法,值得推广。作者曾用三氧化二铬(以重铬酸铵加热分解制得)作为催化剂进行实验,也收到一定效果。最近我们用银石棉(即镀银镜的石棉)作催化剂,实验效果比上述几种都好,特别适于进行课堂演示实验。同时我们将用镀银铜丝进行实验的方法作了一些改进,实验效果有所提高,现一并介绍如下:
The catalytic oxidation of ammonia is one of the important contents of chemistry teaching in middle school. Nanjing Teachers College to silver mirror silver instead of platinum as a catalyst, which is an effective way, it is worth promoting. The author has used chromium oxide (with ammonium dichromate decomposition) as a catalyst for experiments, also received some results. Recently, we use silver asbestos (silver mirror asbestos) as a catalyst, the experimental effect is better than the above several, especially suitable for classroom demonstration experiments.
