经济学鼻祖亚当·斯密对行业协会(Corporations,《国富论》有不同译本,有的译为行业协会,有的译为同业公会,是指同行业者的组织,包括商人和可接收学徒的工匠)并无好感,在他的经典巨著《国富论》中,行业协会的出现就带着原罪。亚当·斯密在《国富论》中指出:同一行业的人即使为了娱乐和消遣而集合在一起,他们的谈话也很少不涉及反对公众的阴谋和某种提高价格的策划。行业协会的出现就是为了限制行业中的竞争,为了防止由于自由竞争所必然造成
