Oral mucosal exfoliative cells are an important factor in the oral environment. They provide a surface for the attachment of bacteria and help to maintain a balanced oral environment. Exfoliated cells present the final stages of oral mucosal cell differentiation and keratosis. Degeneration and decomposition of organelles is appropriate.
