榆林沙区在毛乌素沙漠的东南缘,是鄂尔多斯地台和黄土高原的接壤区。东西长840多华里,南北宽24～252华里,千里古长城从东北向西南横卧其间,沙区总面积2860万亩,占榆林全区总面积的43％。主要分布在定边、靖边、横山、榆林、神木和府谷,佳县也有零星分布。其地貌类型可分为:流动沙地746万亩,占沙区总面积的26.1％;固定半固定沙地690万亩,占24.2％;河谷阶地和湖盆滩地
Yulin Sandy Desert in the southeastern margin of the Mausu, Erdos platform and the Loess Plateau bordering area. What’s more than 840 miles long, north-south width of 24 to 252 Huarui, Trinidad ancient Great Wall from northeast to southwest lying during the total area of 2860 mu of sandy area, accounting for 43% of the total area of Yulin. Mainly distributed in Dingbian, Jingbian, Hengshan, Yulin, Shenmu and Fugu, Jiaxian also sporadic distribution. Its landform types can be divided into: 746 mu of floating sandy land, accounting for 26.1% of the total sand area; 690 mu of fixed semi-fixed sandy land, accounting for 24.2%; valley terrace and lagoon land
