【Abstract】The paper makes a research on delamination method in English teaching in senior middle school—a dimension of English teaching.By applying theories of linguistics,the author analyzes the present situation of the application of delamination method in English teaching both in college school and in senior middle school and a conclusion is,then,drawn that delamination English teaching can also be applicable in senior middle school.

Introduction
It is self-evident that language learning can take place when the learner has enough access to input in the target language.This input may come in written or spoken form.According to Krashen’s INPUT HYPOTHESIS (1985),learners acquire language as a result of comprehending input addressed to them.He brought forward the concept of “i 1” principle,i.e.the language that learners are exposed to should be just far enough beyond their current competence that they can understand most of it but still be challenged to make progress.Input should neither be so far beyond their reach that they are overwhelmed,nor so close to their current stage that they are not challenged at all.In accordance with the hypothesis,the learner improves and progresses along the ’natural order’ when he receives second language ’input’ that is one step beyond his current stage of linguistic competence.
The American famous educator C.W.Washburne once claimed that children of very different abilities are cast into the same mold yard mandatory,which is not only ineffective but also harmful,and even cruel.
Based on these,a paper which is from the 11th periodical of China Higher Education in 2002 proposed the view of teaching according to the different capacity and intelligence of the students and of classified directing,which can make different students improve in English learning and teaching.Afterwards,delamination method in teaching or delamnination teaching has been widely used in different schools,especially in college.
Body
Delamination method is to divide the students into different temporal classes based on the different capacity and intelligence of students without breaking down the original classes to make sure the students are able to soar in learning.And delamnination English teaching allows the students who have different English levels to make progress separately and also convenient for the English teacher to give the lessons.Furthermore,it not only satisfies the desire of different students for English learning,but also inspires the top students to learn English actively. Frankly,aimed at generally improving the English level of college students,delamination teaching has made contributions to English learning and teaching.However,the disadvantages of applying the delamination English teaching in college school are far more than its advantages.Owing to the particular period of the students,it produces side mental influence on most college students.In college school,the students have already been grown-ups.They pay much attention to their impression in others’ mind.The students in Class A would be pleased enough to attend the class,thinking that they are prior over the students in Class B while the students in Class B are likely to skip class easily in order not to be looked down upon.In addition,college students do not have entrance pressure.And for the teacher it is difficult to direct the class.Gradually,their English grades decrease.
In contrast,the situation in senior middle school is quite different from that in college school.
Firstly,students in senior school are armed with the motivation or pressure,of attending the entrance exam to college from the moment they enter high school.They will not feel lose face or inferior in Class B because most of them desire for learning English well so as to land their ideal universities.Hence,they do not pay much attention to the impression made on the others.Instead,they are eager to perform actively in order not to fall behind.They admire the students who excel at English.It is safe to say that the application of the delamination English teaching in senior middle school will not easily produce negative effect on the students because of their particular period of learning.
Secondly,in most senior middle schools,after being admitted,the students are divided into different classes according to their entrance marks.Generally,there exists a system of Quantitative Management which records the students’ behaviors and marks in school.If the student is a troublemaker or does not behave well in class,he or she will be punished via the system of Quantitative Management,meaning that the total term records will be reduced.The application of the delamination English teaching will make the students in Class A study even harder so as not to drop while the students in Class B will also take pains to keep up with the students in Class A.The students are,then,keen to answer the teacher’s questions and do pair work voluntarily.Consequently,the class is full of atmosphere of English learning.And then the students in Class B are less likely to skip class.Therefore,in class it is much easier for the English teacher to keep the students who belong to different classes in charge. Thirdly,in our country,students in senior middle school have a rather different knowledge of English.As for the students with different level of English,they have trouble in improving their English if they are not at the same level.Here is a diagram from the three-year English marks of entrance exam to high middle school in Shenzhen.

Obviously,the students graduating from junior middle school have quite different English levels and it is a tough project for the teacher to give English classes.And unluckily,it is a common phenomenon in China.So it is necessary for them to be taught based on their different English levels.
Last but not least,the parents can greatly support it because they expect their child to go to a famous university after graduating from high school and to be someone in the future.
Conclusion
From all the above and the ones that are not listed here,there is no doubt that the application of the delamination method in English teaching in senior middle school is appreciate and applicable.It is especially badly in need at present.In senior middle school,time allowed to have English lessons taught is extremely limited,and the students are not self-study learners.Whether the students can do well in English is determined by the students and the English teacher’s methods as well.Furthermore,with the new course standard and curriculum concept,modern education points out that the student is the subject of education and the authentic owner of the learning process.Therefore,the application of the delamination in senior middle school is evidently not only a demand but also a must.All in all,the delamination English teaching avoids the phenomenon that in learning English the top students are the only ones who are active in class and the secondary students are relatively passive because of their poor English,having no alternative to respond in class.Fortunately,the delamination English teaching can identify the students’ personal differences in language learning,respect individual development,allow the students whose English belongs to different levels to improve separately and make the humanity educational concept come true.
In conclusion,it is necessary and applicable to employ the delamination method in English teaching in senior school.It is certain that English teaching and learning will be much more improved and meet a bright future the time the delamination method in English teaching is utilized in senior middle school.
