萆薢组植物隶薯蓣科薯蓣属,在我国有悠久的药用历史。古代主要用于利湿去浊,祛风通痹,现经科学研究,发现并证实了许多药理作用与临床疗效。更重要的是该组植物药材含甾体皂甙元(主要为薯蓣皂甙元),它是半合成甾体激素类药物(肾上腺皮质激素,男、女性激素,蛋白同化激素)的主要原料。甾体激素类药物临床应用日益广泛,而且目前的计划生育用药多为各种甾体激素药物制综述
The group of plants belonging to the genus Dioscorea of the Dioscorea family has a long history of medicinal use in China. In ancient times, it was mainly used for dewetting, turbidity, and phlegm.
