秦皇岛冶金机械阀门总厂始建于70年代初。过去,由于受机构臃肿、人浮于事和分配上的平均主义的影响,企业缺乏应有的生机与活力。为了尽快扭转企业的被动局面,从1992年6月开始,大刀阔斧地进行了以转换企业经营机制为主要内容的一系列改革,使企业焕发出勃勃生机。去年完成工业总产值、总产量、总收入、实现利润、实现利税、职工收入均比上年有了大幅度增长。今年以来,生产形势一直看好。企业从原只生产几个品种阀门,发展到能为整座高炉生产成套阀门,能为我国最大的4063m~3高炉生产22种全套阀门,其中新型翻杆阀门冲出国门,远销巴基斯坦。
