指示符号一直是哲学界及语言学界颇具争议的一类特殊符号。与象似、规约两类符号不同,在指示符号中,符号(媒介)本身处于中间关节点,该类符号指示功能的实现须依赖于“I→M→O”单向链条的完整性。
Indicators have long been a controversial category of special symbols in the philosophical and linguistic fields. Unlike the icon-like and the gauge-two types of symbols, in which the symbol (medium) itself is at an intermediate point of intersection, the implementation of such symbols indicates that the functional realization depends on the integrity of the unidirectional chain of “I → M → O ” .
