1986年4月,中国举行首届中国莎士比亚戏剧节,产生了震动中外的深远影响。“中莎会”首任会长、莎剧节筹备委员会主任委员曹禺对首届莎剧节的成功举办做出了巨大贡献。他的卓越贡献主要表现在:1.狠抓节目质量,展示中国演剧艺术的第一流水平;2.鼓励、支持多样化的莎剧创作,让广大人民成为莎翁的知音;3.强调文艺队伍的团结,齐心协力搞好首届中国莎剧节。
In April 1986, China held the first Chinese Shakespeare Festival of Drama, which had a profound and far-reaching impact both at home and abroad. Cao Lu, chairman of Shakespeare Festival Preparatory Committee and the first president of Zhongsha Club, made great contributions to the success of the first Shakespeare Festival. His outstanding contributions mainly in: 1. Pay close attention to the quality of the show, show the Chinese art of the first-class performance level; 2. Encourage and support a diverse Shakespearean creation, so that the general public become Shakespeare’s companion; 3. Team unity, make concerted efforts to improve the first China Sha drama Festival.
