  【Abstract】This paper analyzes the teaching characteristics of bilingual English classes in cooperation between our school and the National Institute of Information Technology of India,this paper discusses the reform of English teaching in vocational education: vocational English, what is the purpose of teaching. How to embody the requirements of vocational education in the content of vocational education English teaching materials, and what teaching methods and teaching methods can teachers use in order to arouse the enthusiasm of students to learn English, improve students’ English level, and so on.

  1. Introduction
  At present, the global vocational education raises the hundred vocational education and the general education cooperation, namely both body. This is because of the application and development of information technology and the increase of the market demand for professional and technical personnel, vocational education should cultivate complex high-level talents to meet the needs of modernization. In this way, English teaching in higher vocational colleges should strengthen the integration of academic and professional nature. Vocational education and general education should be mutually diagnosed and linked, and the boundary between the two should be broken. For the society to provide all-round, high-quality, suitable for the job demand with a certain degree of professional ability and vocational skills of his comprehensive talent. The cooperation of vocational education and general education not only poses a challenge to the university English employment education, but also provides a broad reform space for teachers.
  2. The content of College English Teaching Reform in higher Vocational and Technical Education
  2.1 To establish a system of assessment of professional competence
  The establishment of assessment system is related to the implementation of teaching model and teaching plan. To make the syllabus, compile and choose the teaching material, and design the teaching module based on the professional characteristics and the communicative ability of language.
  2.2 Adjusting the Teaching goal of higher Professional English
  English teaching in higher vocational colleges should be based on the principle of “practical and sufficient” to cultivate students’ ability to listen, speak, read, write and translate, to foster students’ ability to learn independently and to set up a lifelong learning consciousness. The basic knowledge and vocational skills of English are very important to cultivate students’ innovative spirit and creative ability.   2.3 Broadening the structure of students’ Professional ability
  Higher vocational American English teaching requires students to develop their own language knowledge, phonetic, grammatical and lexical knowledge, listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating.
  3. Concluding remarks
  The reform of American English teaching in higher vocational education should accord with the general requirements and characteristics of higher vocational education, highlight the three characteristics of reality, application and practicality, and need educators to change their ideas and constantly explore the elements in theory and practice.
