唐前的小说又称作古小说,它分为志人、志怪两大系统。对于志怪小说而言,魏晋六朝无疑是一个最为的关键时期,在此时期,很多志怪小说大量产生,但由于志怪小说内容的特殊性,区别于正统文学,在文学研究史上的地位一直未受重视,作品保存状况也不尽理想,因而在甄别魏晋六朝志怪小说的善本问题时,缺乏一个系统的参考,而善本的选择,是研究一切魏晋六朝志怪小说的基础。本文将在此问题上做出尝试,介于篇幅限制本文节选6部较有代表性得六朝志怪小说,对其历代著录概况、版本流传进行详细整理,并对其善本做出筛选,为进一步的六朝志怪小说研究做铺垫。
