当今是“信息爆炸”的时代.信息已同能源、物质一样成为促进生产力发展和影响社会进步的重要因素。因此人们越来越重视对信息的拥有和利用的程度;期刊是一种重要的信息载体。它内容新颖、出版周期短,能及时反映新科技、新成果、新理论。它信息含量大,据统计期刊提供的信息量占信息总量的70％以上。因此重视期刊的开发利用,提高期刊文献的利用率是各高校图书馆期刊工作的主要目标。期刊工作是一项艰苦而细致的工作,目前全国对期刊管理尚没有实行统一化、规范化。各图书馆对期刊管理方法也不相同。近年来期刊价格增长较快,大大超过期刊经费的增长率。为此图书馆不得不压缩期刊种类及复本的订购量,这无疑会给科研、教学带来一定影响。在这种情况下如何搞好期刊工作,本人仅从以下几方面谈一点认识。一、期刊订购期刊工作的任务是为学校的教学、科研及其他教育任务提供信息服务的。因而选择收集期刊以及期刊开发利用等工作都需适应教学,科研的需求。期刊订购是期刊管理的关键
Today is an era of “information explosion.” Information, like energy and materials, has become an important factor in promoting the development of productive forces and affecting social progress. Therefore, people pay more and more attention to the degree of ownership and utilization of information. Journal is an important information carrier. Its novel content and short publication period reflect new science and technology, new achievements and new theories in time. It has a large amount of information, accounting for more than 70% of the total amount of information provided by statistical journals. Therefore, attention to the development and utilization of periodicals, improve the utilization of periodical literature is the main goal of the university library periodicals. Journal work is a hard and meticulous work, the current national management of the journal has not yet implemented a unified and standardized. Each library also has different management methods for periodicals. In recent years, the price of periodicals has increased rapidly, greatly exceeding the growth rate of periodicals. For this reason the library has to compress the ordering quantity of journals and copies, which undoubtedly will bring a certain impact on scientific research and teaching. In this case how to do a good job journals, I only talk about the following aspects of understanding. I. Periodicals The task of ordering periodicals is to provide information services for the teaching, research and other educational tasks in schools.
