The modern Western shareholding system has a history of more than 300 years. It originated in Europe in the early 17th century. The earliest stock exchange was the Amsterdam Amsterdam Exchange established in 1613. China’s shareholding system began to sprout in the late 19th century, nearly three hundred years later than the West. In 1888 (the 14th year of the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty), some foreign companies organized the “Stock Exchange Association” in Shanghai, which specializes in trading in foreign stocks and became the earliest stock exchange in China. From 1909 to 1911 (the Qing Xuantong period), the national bourgeoisie of our country began to use the stock company to run the company. The stock exchanges were mostly in the teahouse, and the earliest and most famous was the Huifang restaurant on the southern road of Shanghai. In 1914 the Beiyang government announced China’s first stock exchange regulations. 19
