The authors report two cases of poliomyelitis-related cases, indicating that immunology and virology are equally important. A 7-month-old boy was irritated with two weeks of ear infections admitted to hospital for 2 days. Day 3 children with seizures, respiratory arrest died. Autopsy found that brain tissue showed myelomyelitis with polymorphonuclear leukocyte infiltration. Stool culture isolated polio type II
