35年前,鄂西长阳土家山寨一位“赤脚医生”首创了看病吃药花钱少的“合作医疗制度”。由于毛主席的“称赞”批示,该制度在全国农村普遍推广,惠及亿万农民。其创始人也几度出国访问、并平步青云官居副厅长。令人不解的是,这位毛主席赞赏的“农民厅长”上任才几个月就辞官还乡了,给人们留下几多猜测。此后,由于形势的变化,合作医疗曾几起几落。如今,当众多老百姓面对医药费上涨、看病吃药越来越无法承受的困难时,他们不由得又想起了昔日辞官不当的“农民厅长”。
