Light radiation can cause serious damage to Chinese paintings. In order to preserve these artistic treasures, the illumination on the exhibits should be reduced as much as possible. However, viewing and viewing environments must not appear dimmed or blurred. The author conducted a series of subjective evaluation experiments, applied the semantic difference scale and factor analysis, and found out the optimal lighting conditions for the visual environment of Chinese paintings. The conclusions are: 1. The best illumination on the frame is 50lx and the range is 30-100lx. The spatial light distribution of the showroom requires an average cylinder illumination/frame illumination ((?)/E) ratio of 0.15 and a range of 0.12 to 0.20. Frames and ambient lighting are recommended to use incandescent lamps as light sources. 2. When using fluorescent lamps, the ratio of the frame illumination and the average cylinder illumination/frame illumination should be larger.
