Polite factors in language communication are important causes of communication failure.In this paper,Through introducing the related content of politeness principles,differences between Chinese and English cultures and different standards about politeness,it explains the reasons of pragmatic failures in cross-cultural communication and puts forward some politeness strategies.It aims to reduce pragmatic failures in cross-cultural communication.
