目前,一些真空旋转机械的轴封还没有很好解决。例如:在水环式真空泵,尤其是二级以上的水环式真空泵中,原采用软填料作为轴封,存在泄漏量大、轴的使用寿命短等问题。而在罗茨真空泵中,采用骨架油封作为轴封也存在使用不可靠的问题。又如气体激光器用风机的轴封要在真空和压力两种工况下起密封作用,而且它又是高速旋转的,因此对密封要求很高。据报道,美国采用磁传动来实现激光器的旋转密封,而国内大功率磁传动装置尚处于研究阶段。
