Since Todd et al. Described Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) in 1978, more than 1,100 cases have been reported in the United States and Canada, and their severity is clearly shown to be as high as 7 to 10% of deaths. TSS is often considered associated with the use of wound tampons
