古树历经千百年岁月的洗礼,具有重要的经济、历史、科研、文化、旅游、政治及生态价值。保护好古树对于弘扬悠久的历史文化,丰富人们的精神生活,建设生态文明社会具有十分重要的意义。近年来,湖北省武汉市在创建国家级森林城市中,把保护古树作为一项重要内容,多管齐下,多措并举,使该市丰富的古树资源得到较好保护和合理开发利用,成为其创建国家级森林城市的一张重要“王牌”。为此,记者专程采访了该市林业局长期从事古树名木保护工作的温建国副巡视员和主任科员程凤。
