Objective To analyze the cause of accidental pull-out of the pipe in patients undergoing thoracic surgery and to explore the effect of nursing intervention on the safety management of the pipeline. Methods 54 patients undergoing thoracic surgery from March 2013 to January 2014 in our department of thoracic surgery were selected as the control group and 54 patients undergoing thoracic surgery from March 2014 to March 2015 were selected as the control group The observation group was used to analyze the causes of accidental extubation. The routine nursing of the control group and the routine nursing of the observation group were added to the safety management of the pipeline. The incidence of accidental extubation and patient satisfaction with nursing were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of extubation in the observation group was 11.11%, which was lower than that in the control group (χ2 = 9.527, P <0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 87.03% higher than 74.07% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 8.702, P <0.05). Conclusions The causes of accidental pull-out of the pipe in patients after thoracic surgery are analyzed, and the targeted nursing intervention in the implementation of safety management of the pipelines can obviously reduce the rate of the pull-out of the pipelines and help to improve the patient’s satisfaction with the quality of nursing work.
