Let us imagine a city built on the sea, half a half floating in the sea, its roof and shining bell tower surrounded by mist, looming, mysterious, poetic. This magical and romantic place is the 17th century Venice. At that time, Venice city has 11 centuries of history, has become a beach shelter to escape the war in Italy. The shallow lagoon protects the city from invasion, making Venice once a powerhouse in the world. An aristocratic group led by the Duke imposed a dictatorship over Venice, and aristocrats became richer by the control over land trade between Asia and Europe. The opening of new routes to Asia in 1488 ended the monopoly of Venice’s trade; and although in the following centuries Venice has gradually declined and the city’s beauty and legendary art treasures have been well preserved to date. The picture below shows us the center of the city.
