笔者考研那一年,陕西众多画家热情、积极地投身参与到陕西省文化厅组织的“长安画派创始四十周年大型纪念活动”中,缅怀创立“长安画派”的老一辈画家的丰功伟绩,座谈“一手伸向传统,一手伸向生活”的创作宗旨及他们开宗立派的崇高精神,使每一位画家受到莫大的感染。在当代中国画坛上,石鲁先生的作品以充满新意新情和独特艺术风貌,引起人们广泛关注。被艺术界称誉为“长安画派”的旗手和代表画家。孜孜不倦,终生追求新意,永远不落俗套,应当肯定为石鲁艺术风格的主要特征。但是,一种新风格的出现,也难于避免引起人们的不接受和非难,甚至反对。石鲁先生曾有一首脍炙人口的打油诗:
In the year of my postgraduate study in Beijing, many painters in Shaanxi enthusiastically participated in the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chang’an School of Painting organized by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture, and remembered the accomplishments of the older artists who founded the Chang’an School of Painting , The purpose of the discussion of “one hand to the tradition and one hand to life” and the lofty spirit of their founding, so that every painter is greatly affected. In contemporary Chinese painting society, Mr. Shi Lu’s works are full of new ideas and unique artistic style, aroused widespread concern. Is the art community praised as “Chang painting school” bearer and representative painter. Diligent, lifelong pursuit of new ideas, never unconventional, should be identified as the main features of Shilu artistic style. However, the appearance of a new style is also hard to avoid arousing people’s unacceptable and irresistible or even opposition. Mr. Shi Lu had a popular hit oil poem:
