A physicist recently said that a new type of clock can be clocked by atomic weighing. Its working principle is very different from the standard atomic clock, which can record the time more accurately. The standard atomic clock takes advantage of the principle of atomic absorption of electromagnetic radiation, such as light of certain frequencies, whose internal structure can hop from one quantum state to another. The clock essentially exposes atoms to radiation to find this frequency of radiation, and then keeps on working as the clock ticks. The atomic clock can well maintain the accuracy of the official world time, the error of 100 million years is less than 1s.
