The size and weight of all parasites of BemisiatabaciB ecotypes of cotton and muskmelon were investigated in the fields of Phoenix and Fargo, North Dakota, USA in 2001 and 2001 respectively. The nymph size is calculated from the nymph size. In the first to fourth instar, nymphs average volume increased exponentially. The fastest increase in volume is from the third to the fourth instar. Nymphs on cotton are wider than muskmelon, but not longer. The nymphs of the first to fourth instar of the melon had significantly higher proportions of the abdomen and back at the thickest part than those on the cotton. The nymphs on both host crops increased nearly 5 1 times on average from the first to the fourth age, while the dorsal thickness increased only 28 times on average. The average length of females and males from the top to the tip of the wing were 112 6 and 95 3 microns, respectively, with weights of 39 and 17 μg. The eggs on cotton and melon averaged a long, wide, and heavy weight of 197 microns, 99 microns, and 0.8 grams, respectively. The unparasitic pupal shell length, width, and weight were 6 73 microns, 4 92 microns and 12 micrograms, respectively; parasitic pupal shells were 6 65 microns, 452 microns, and 36 micrograms. The unpaired and parasitized pupae on cotton are longer, wider, and heavier than the muskmelon.
