The cells that produce and secrete hormones in the digestive system are called APUD cells (see 2 (12): 540, 1975). These embryos originated from the neural crest and later moved to the foregut and its derivatives. After development, they were deeply buried in some tissues and produced various polypeptide hormones and amines to participate in the regulation of the digestive system and systemic function. Currently, there are 24 APUD cells, at least 11 gastrointestinal tract and 4 pancreas (Table 1).
