我国海洋科学界的先驱之一、我国贝类学的创始人和奠基者、著名的动物学家和海洋生物学家、法国国家博士张玺教授,在1967年7月10日逝世之前,是中国海洋湖沼学会的理事长,中国科学院海洋研究听副所长兼中国科学院南海海洋研究所所长。张玺所长生前为我国海洋科学事业的创立和发展做出了重大的贡献,他在南海留下了不朽的业迹,他的学术思想和他为祖国科学事业奉献终生的精神,不断激励着我们前进。他将永远为有幸致力于海洋科学研究的晚辈们所纪念!
