In the late twentieth century, explaining historical development with modernization theory became one of the mainstream consciousness of Chinese historians. The theory of modernization advocates that historical research and teaching correctly explain the historical process of the development of human democratic politics and objectively reflect the relationship between industrialization and modern society. Based on the history syllabus of our country since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, this paper analyzes the long-existing non-modern teaching system of history teaching in middle schools.
