柯尔碱膨润土矿为钠基膨润土矿床.它赋存于上石炭统火山岩系中,矿区地质构造复杂,成矿方式多样,各家认识不一,现归纳整理于下,不妥之处,敬请批评指正.一、区域成矿地质背景矿床位于北天山华力西褶皱带依林哈比尔尕复向斜东缘和吐鲁番—哈密山间坳陷西部隆起部位.区域出露地层主要是中石炭统海相火山沉积岩和上石炭统火山岩和火山沉积岩.中石炭统巴音沟组为凝灰砂岩、硅质岩互层夹灰岩透镜体,灰岩中含海百合茎化石,厚度大于5326米.
