The charge stripping by carbon foil is widely used in the current accelerators. For HIRFL-CSR,diverse ions from hydrogen to uranium have been planned to be accelerated. In the beam accumulation schemes of the CSRm,besides of the MMI(multiple multi-turn injection),the charge stripping injection(CSI)is planned for accumulation of ions. The carbon stripping foils were prepared by the methods of AC or DC arc discharge.
