全国及武汉高铁建设的快速发展,将武汉置于全国高铁中心节点城市的战略地位。应按照中央、省委和市委关于“两型社会”建设的总体战略部署,尽快把武汉建设成为应对高铁时代经济社会发展的典型示范城市、名副其实的全国高铁中心节点城市、全国知名的高铁经济示范区以及全国重要的低碳经济示范区;以“中国·武汉高铁经济示范区”为平台基地,培育全市经济新的战略增长极,争取成为第四个国家级经济开发区。以高铁配套改革为抓手,加快武汉城市功能的转型升级,成为全国重要的先进制造业基地、高新技术产业基地、现代服务业中心和综合交通运输枢纽,巩固提升中部地区中心城市的地位和作用,加快建设国家中心城市。
