谈及阅读,有的教授认为文科生最缺的,或许已经不再是面向传统的“经典”教育,而是对理科通识和学科前沿的无知。缺乏这方面的知识支撑,培养出来的学生搞“科研”只能钻故纸堆,走向社会却发现自己没有基本的数理知识和解决实际问题的流程规划能力,不得不“从头再来”。站在一个更高的层面上来看,我们的文科教育的确太面向传统,而疏于面对世界学术潮流之大方向。
When it comes to reading, some professors think liberal arts students are the most lacking and may no longer be oriented toward the traditional “classical” education, but rather ignorance of science general knowledge and the frontiers of science. Lack of knowledge support in this area, trained students to engage in “scientific research” can only drill the pile of paper, to the community but found that they do not have the basic mathematical knowledge and practical problems to solve the problem of process planning capabilities, had to “start all over again.” Standing at a higher level, our liberal arts education is indeed too traditional, but neglected in the general direction of the world’s academic trend.
