卡森.麦卡勒斯是20世纪美国南方女作家中的代表人物。然而,随着女性意识在美国现代社会的蔓延和发展,女性成长这一写作主题也开始出现在卡森.麦卡勒斯的作品中,她的作品中女性成长的代表人物主要有《婚礼的成员》中的弗兰淇和《心是孤独的猎手》中的米克。从女性意识的成长这一角度来分析这两个女孩的成长既反映了女性对自身性别意识的困惑,也反映了女性意识的觉醒及其延伸。
Carson McCullers is a representative of the 20th century American female writers in the South.
