邓植仪先生,广东省东莞县人,生于1888年5月2日,卒于1957年10月18日,享年69岁。 邓先生早岁从E.Truog教授学习土壤学,1914年回国,历任湖南工专、南京高师教授,广东农专校长,广东大学,中山大学教务长兼农学院院长等职,前后三十余年。在任教期间,于1930年苦心筹设广东土壤调查所,1934年又在调查所基础上创设中山大学土壤研究学部,招收研究生。1935年出席在英国召开的第三次国际土壤学会及国际教育会议。解放后邓先生应中央农业部邀请北上,任顾问职,旋改任华北农业科学研究所研究员,中国农业科学院研究员。1957年5月南返,任华南农业科学研究所研究员。前后从事教育和研究
