西域与明朝间的朝贡贸易是由明政府垄断的,这是汉唐丝绸之路发展到明代的新形式。哈密、吐鲁番等同明朝朝贡贸易最为密切,规模很大,在朝贡贸易中占据主导地位,对明朝在西北边疆的经营乃至对西北边疆的备边政策都有着举足轻重的影响。
The tributary trade between the Western Regions and the Ming Dynasty was monopolized by the Ming government, which was a new form of development of the Han and Tang Dynasties’ Silk Road to the Ming Dynasty. Hami and Turpan are most closely linked with the tributary trade of the Ming Dynasty. They dominate the tributary trade and play an important role in the operation of the Ming Dynasty in the northwest frontier and even in the northwestern frontier.
