2003年,是新疆出版史上令人难忘的一年。在自治区党委、人民政府的领导下,我们经受了“非典”疫情和多种自然灾害的严峻考验,解放思想,深化改革,开拓创新,加快发展,出版了一大批优秀的图书、音像制品和电子出版物,为自治区的经济建设和社会稳定提供了强有力的思想保证和智力支持。2003年,全区12家图书、音像、电子出版社共出版了3040种图书(包括教材)、200种音像制品和电子出版物。其中一大批是展示新疆特色和反映新疆各条战线丰硕成果的“双效”图书、音像制品和电子出版物。与此同时,在全国各类图书、音像制品和电子出版物评比中,新疆也获得了不少奖项和荣誉。新疆人民出版社等5家出版社出版的5种图书获得了第五届中国民族图书奖二、三等奖;《维吾尔十二木卡姆》音像制品获得中国音
2003 is an unforgettable year in the history of publishing in Xinjiang.
