In the spring of 2015, a dozen of our photographers from China and China walked into the black residential area of Langa, Cape Town, South Africa. Led by the awesome young black guide Odwa, we feel close to the black people who outsiders have trouble getting in. Everything I saw here was both expected and unexpected. The shabby housing provided by the government is mixed with the metal skins and wooden houses built by the people themselves, in striking contrast with other modern and upscale communities.
